BBBS is a group befriending programme that aims to reach out to children from single-parent families between the ages of 9 -16 years old. Caring volunteers (the BIGS), who are trained by the agency, meet the children once a month in the centre for group activities to share interests, hobbies and develop their friendship.
A BIG is a befriender who shows care and concern for the child. As a befriender you will:
* share life skills with the children
* spend time with the children
* allow the children to share feelings and thoughts with you
