About RAINBOWS:

“Rainbows… from Hurt, through Healing, to Hope.”

RAINBOWS is a peer support programme for children and adults who have experienced death, divorce, separation and abandonment.

When a change takes place in the family – whether it is death, divorce, separation, abandonment, or even being born out of wedlock – it has a profound effect on the whole family.

Children as well as adults, grieve over the loss of the loved one who was once a part of their everyday lives.

RAINBOWS provides the opportunity and a safe environment for grieving children and adults to sort through their pains and confusion, build self-esteem and learn to trust again.

There are 4 components in the RAINBOWS programme:-

1) Rainbows – peer support for children
between the ages of 6 – 12 years

2) Spectrum – peer support programme
specifically developed for teenagers

3) Kaleidoscope – young adults who
grew up in single-parent families

4) PRISM – for single parents
